Following a warm welcome and glass of mulled wine on arrival, a Lakeland afternoon tea will be served in the Bay Bar and Lounge. This evening, Head chef Michael Wilson, and his brigade then welcome you with a champagne and canapé reception, with our resident musician playing you through a sumptuous four course dinner in the Bay Restaurant.
Christmas Eve - Friday 24th December 2010
Following breakfast, discover the delights of Ambleside with our all-new Treasure Hunt OR alternatively relax and unwind in our bar and lounge before enjoying another traditional afternoon tea. Mark Needham, General Manager, and his team then welcome you to the evening celebrations with a champagne and canapé reception, followed by a candlelit four course dinner, and ever-popular casino night. The local parish churches welcome the community and visitors alike for Midnight Mass, and a glass of mulled wine will await your return to the hotel.
Christmas Day - Saturday 25th December 2010
Father Christmas will greet you with presents and a glass of Bucks Fizz prior to a full Christmas breakfast, then enjoy a traditional Christmas morning walk, along with the equally traditional half-way glass of mulled wine! Our traditional four course Christmas Day lunch is then served with all the trimmings, followed by the Queen’s speech televised at 3pm in the Bay Bar.This evening we welcome the return of the South Lakes Handbell Ringers, followed by a light but sumptuous buffet supper.
Boxing Day - Sunday 26th December 2010
Brunch is served until late, followed by a complimentary cruise on Lake Windermere. For all food and drink enthusiasts, join Head Chef, Michael Wilson, this afternoon for our food and drink master class and demonstration. This evening’s three course dinner will feature Michael’s twist on some traditional British pub favourites, followed by The Waterhead Festive Pub Quiz with prizes.
