Storrs Hall provides one of the most stunning wedding venue locations you can imagine. This beautiful restored Georgian Mansion affords an extraordinary backdrop for a truly idyllic wedding. The drawing room, or our wonderful reception hall with its rotunda and balcony can provide elegant, yet informal settings for drinks and canapés. And with exceptional views across Lake Windermere, fantastic lawns and gardens plus sumptuous interiors, the photo opportunities are endless.
The dining room at Storrs has unparalleled views over the lake and seats up to 70 people for a three or four course formal luncheon with coffee and petit fours. Using our overflow restaurant, numbers can be increased to 94 guests. Innovative and award winning chef Will Jones is happy to meet with you to discuss your ideas and requirements, from canapés to three or four course luncheon or a more informal buffet style wedding breakfast.
Our experienced wedding co-ordinator is dedicated to the planning and smooth running of your wedding and will be delighted to assist with even the smallest details. Why not arrange a no-obligation viewing of the hotel and facilities, and let us talk you through the possibilities for your very special day. We can also assist you in finding your photographer, florist, musicians, boat hire for a trip on the Lake (from the hotel jetty), vintage coach hire, cake, bridal favours, beauticians, hairdresser, etc;. all the help you want to make your wedding memorable.
The Hall is available for evening receptions or celebrations either within the hotel or, for larger numbers, a marquee erected in the extensive grounds. Such an event , as well as certain periods during the year, necessitates reserving the entire hotel for exclusive use for 1 or 2 nights; our thirty stunning guestrooms provide the epitome of luxury for your guests.
The hotel holds a civil licence and has some of the best backdrops in the county for fantastic wedding photography and memories.
Civil Ceremonies
Wedding ceremonies can take place at Storrs Hall. Various areas within the hotel are licensed to hold a ceremony, in accordance with the number of guests. Most of the ceremonies take place in the Rotunda, a most unusual and special setting for your wedding.
Ceremonial fee - £395.00 (separate from the Registrar charges), subject to change.

Formal Luncheon & Wedding Breakfasts
Our two elegant dining rooms afford magnificent views and the lawns down to the water’s edge offer a magical setting and fantastic photographic opportunities.
The Terrace dining room is available for daytime receptions between 12 noon and 5.00pm, seating up to 70 people for a formal luncheon (or up to 94 using the overflow room). Alternatively our smaller John Bolton dining room offers a more intimate atmosphere, seating up to 24 guests for a formal luncheon, or our Counties Meet room, seating up to 40 guests.
Perhaps you can make a tasting of wines or Champagnes or Cumbrian ales in our cellars a part of your programme? The hotel cellars can be used for a variety of activities.
Our chefs prepare the finest cuisine from locally sourced ingredients whether it be for a three or four course luncheon followed by coffee and petit fours, or a more informal buffet style wedding breakfast. Our Head Chef would be delighted to meet you to discuss your personal requirements.
Evening Receptions
Should you wish to hold your reception during the evening, or to extend your celebrations into the evening with entertainment, dance floor, etc. We would be delighted to discuss your ideas with you. However for such an event, it would be necessary to reserve Storrs on an exclusive basis. For your information we have thirty beautifully appointed guest rooms.
